With a suitcase of shoes, humming a Nancy Sinatra tune, last week, Wings jet-setted to the bright lights of Las Vegas for IMEX 2023, the worldwide tradeshow for Incentive Travel, Meetings, and Events. In an industry of self-proclaimed globetrotting enthusiasts and connoisseurs of all things event planning, it was an exciting deep dive into a whirlwind of creative ideas, cutting-edge technologies, and delightful destination education. Of course, catching up with industry pals from around the world was a bonus to this robust event.
The buzz in the air of this sprawling expo hall is palpable, like a fizzy cocktail of inspiration and innovation and the labyrinth of booths and presentations is like a global family reunion with a dash of business. Exchanging stories, laughing over shared industry "hiccups", and, of course, toasting to the magic that happens when event planners come together. Surrounded by the latest trends in event design, innovative meeting solutions, and dreamy destinations with the fabulous, and sometimes crazy, cast of characters that support our industry just can't be beat.
One particular quote from a fellow industry veteran struck a chord: "In this industry, we create experiences that linger in the hearts of our clients long after the confetti has been swept away." This couldn't be truer. IMEX 2023 not only fueled creativity but also reinforced the importance of the relationships we cultivate in this dynamic field.
